When Covid-19 hit the world in 2020, a big part of the working population went on lockdown and started working from home. As a result, online meetings and live webinars became much more popular than ever before. Virtual meetings became one of the best options for group and one-on-one communication.
Business had to continue, and if we could not meet in person, then video became the next best thing. Two years later, the pandemic is still here, and live streaming is more popular than ever.
Video conferencing apps have started adapting to the needs of the working community. Not only do they offer video and voice calls, but they have also expanded to offer more ways to connect with your team. Some of the popular apps include Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. Of course there are others. You can use them to see each other, to share what’s on your screen, to record your meeting, and even pass the control of that meeting to another person.
However, not all good things are free.
To be able to access additional features on these apps, you’ll have to pay more. And, while the free version is good for small meetings or brief meetings, what if you’re looking into a bigger crowd or you need more time? Do you want to pay extra for those things?
What if you had an alternative? What if an application came along that offered you more for free? Well, I’m here to tell you about Meetn, one of the newest video conferencing tools in the market.
According to Meetn, whatever business goals you have, they can make it easier. So what are some of the benefits of Meetn? Well, I’ll give you some of the most commonly asked about features, and then toward the end of this video I will share with you two surprises I found with Meetn.
Top-Tier Audio and Video Quality
First off, they have top-tier audio and video quality. I recently spoke with Rick Raddatz, the CEO of Meetn, and he assured me that audio quality is prioritized. That means if there is a problem with the stream, they focus to keep audio as smooth as possible. After all, it’s the audio that keeps a conversation going.
As for video, they provide true HD quality video at a full 30 frames per second, so you always look your best! They put all this into an elegant user interface that is very easy to use. Unlike Zoom, you won’t find yourself searching for the controls at times. The control bar is always at the top. And, unlike other apps, where you have to share your entire screen, Meetn allows users to share the entire screen, or a specific window, or even a browser tab!
Meeting Sizes
Now, let’s talk about meeting sizes. Meetn offers an unlimited number of meetings, and unlimited durations, and up to 100 attendees, all of that in a free account! Most businesses will never need more than this.
And if you need a larger crowd, you can upgrade to Meetn Unlimited. For only $49 per month, you can host meetings up to 10,000 attendees. Compare that to Zoom’s $7,500 dollars!
Now here’s another feature that Meetn offers that I think is really cool. You can customize a vanity room name for your meetings, and you can name the link. That makes it easy for you to tell others the address of your meeting room without getting some long string of numbers. And it makes it easy for your clients to remember your meeting room since it fits with your brand.
Meetn also gives you easy controls to record and store your meetings. For the free account you can record and download your recordings. If you upgrade to Meetn Standard or Meetn Unlimited, then you get unlimited storage as well.
And if you run into any trouble, you can get live customer service and even one-on-one training.
Oh yeah, and there are other standard features that you should get with any system such as text chat, and virtual backgrounds, and a waiting room. And they can also accommodate break out rooms.
Surprise Features
There are more features as well, but these are the ones that I initially found most interesting. But those don’t include the two surprises I mentioned earlier. The first surprise is technical… Meetn allows you to add extensions to the program.
With the Standard and Unlimited versions, extensions are included. What’s an extension you ask?
Well, for example, they offer a webpage popper extension. Let’s say you’re running a sales meeting and you want to provide added information or display an order form. You don’t have to put a link in a chat box and hope that the attendees use it. You can use the popper extension instead and put the functional page right into the meeting space of their browser. Now attendees can fill out the form without going anywhere else first.
Now, what if you need a feature that is not yet available with Meetn? No problem, Meetn allows users to create and submit their own extensions to make sure whatever you need is tailored for you. Now, that’s impressive! You can use the extensions they provide, or make your own to adapt the platform to your needs.
The second surprise is that they have an affiliate program built in at the Unlimited level. What that means is that they will pay you for referring Meetn to others. They pay 50%, so if you join at the Unlimited level, just 2 Unlimited referrals and you get the complete Meetn system for free. More than two, and you’re coming out ahead.
Of course, no one gets paid when someone has the free version, but the way they set up the system, if you have the unlimited version and you refer a free user, who refers a free user, who refers someone who upgrades, the commission rolls up to you, because the others are not qualified to receive it.
That’s a nifty arrangement. And this happens even if you’re not trying because when someone attends one of your meetings, they might like the system and sign up for free after the meeting. And that’s considered a referral from you.
