Would you design a beautiful store and drop it into the middle of a deserted island? There would be no foot traffic, no customers. That sounds crazy, right? That’s where Off-Site SEO comes into play. It’s like your website’s social butterfly, networking with other websites and spreading the word about your online presence.
It’s like building a bustling community around your digital store, attracting visitors, and skyrocketing your online reputation. So, let’s dig into the captivating realm of Off-Site SEO!
Off-Site SEO
Did you know that Google processes more than 3 and a half billion searches per day? That’s a lot of people looking for a lot of stuff! If your business doesn’t appear when your prospective new customers are searching, you’re losing sales.
And that’s why it’s important to make a conscious effort to appear in the search results and get those clicks. There’s the technical side of SEO, which looks at a variety of technical issues related to your site. I covered these things in a previous video, and the link is here in case you’re interested.
But today, I am talking about Off-Site SEO.
Off-Site search engine optimization looks at promoting your website on other platforms to attract more viewers. So instead of just focusing on things you can do on your website, like writing good content and using the right keywords, Off-Site SEO involves strategies like link building, posting articles on other sites, and using social media to spread the word about your website.
The goal here is to make the search engines, and more people, see your website as trustworthy and credible. Doing this helps improve your website’s rankings and your overall reputation. If you’re thinking about skipping Off-Site SEO, then you’ll miss a big step in getting your site ranking higher in the search results.
Just like in real life, reputation affects perception of trust. Websites that have a great reputation tend to be more respected and trusted by others. And it’s not just people. Search engines also consider reputation when deciding which websites to rank higher in the search results.
One of the best ways to show that your website is reputable is through Off-Site SEO techniques like link building, positive reviews, and getting recommendations from others. So, what are the best Off-Site SEO techniques you should apply to your website?
Well, here are 5 tips you can use to boost your website’s authority and increase organic search traffic…
Tip #1 – Build Backlinks
A backlink is simply a link from another website to yours. It links back to your site, so it’s a backlink. Each link to your site is kind of like a vote for your content. The more votes you have, the better. If you have more votes than another site, your site wins.
Okay, it’s not really that simple, but you get the idea. When other websites link to yours, it boosts your site’s credibility and improves your ranking. And, it also drives more traffic to your business. People can get to your site directly from the links on other sites as well as from the improved position in the search results.
Using links from relevant publications in your industry helps get your website viewed as an authority within your industry. At the same time, these are links from credible sites, and this supports your website’s content while showing search engines that you provide relevant information. Ideally, you want to get links from websites that have a high level of authority. These links are more valuable and can improve your chances of ranking higher.
For some of my clients, I implement a backlinking strategy that I call the Authority Visibility System. Maybe this is what you need. You can learn more about this on my website at upatdawn.biz.
Tip #2 – Improve Content Marketing
Content marketing is a key strategy for Off-Site SEO.
When you create valuable and engaging content, it can attract other websites to link back to your site, catch the attention of the media, and demonstrate your expertise, your authority, and your trustworthiness. But it’s not just about creating content. You also need to find ways to share that content on different platforms and channels. By doing so, you increase the signals that search engines receive from other sources, indicating your website is reputable and valuable.
Some of the channels you can use are social media platforms, podcasts, influencer marketing, forums, guest postings, and others. Aside from your website, sharing links to your blog and posting content related to your business on your chosen social media platform can help you reach more people.
Social media provides a platform for you to reach a large audience to share your content. And he bigger the audience, the more traffic you can get. Share photos and videos in your business social media pages, and make sure to post often to maintain visibility. If people can connect and relate to your posts, then they might even share with their friends.
The number of likes, shares, and comments in these social sites translates to awareness of your business or brand, and this creates a chance for more engagement and sales. In your content marketing, be sure to tell viewers what you want them to do. Should they like, comment, share, click, subscribe, or should they do something else?
Tip #3 – Optimize for Local SEO
The local search results show businesses within your specific community or neighborhood. Most people who need a service are looking for someone within their local vicinity. So if your business serves an audience within a local geography around your business, then you need to appear in the local search results.
To do that, Google recommends creating or claiming your Google Business Profile. Getting your profile set up and optimized is the fastest free way to start appearing in the search results. It’s important to have a complete profile so local searchers can easily find your business.
This is so important, in fact, that I have a complete series of videos explaining how to get and optimize your profile if you need to do these things. Look for the playlist link here for easy access.
Once you’ve got your Google Business Profile set up, it’ll be easier for new customers to find you.
Tip #4 – Focus on Customer Feedback and Online reviews
Reviews and ratings help demonstrate that your business is trustworthy. When people see positive reviews about your business, it helps them feel more confident in choosing your business over other competing businesses.
On the other hand, negative reviews can raise concerns. That’s why reviews have a big impact on how Google assesses your website’s expertise, authority, and trustworthiness. If you want to build trust and credibility in your market, then a strong reputation is critical. And to do that you must have a constant stream of high-quality Google reviews and a reasonably high star rating, definitely an average of 4 stars or higher.
So, it’s important to encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews as much as possible. But I said encourage, not bribe. Giving an incentive to leave a review is frowned upon.
Many businesses struggle to get enough good reviews and to get those reviews consistently. And that’s why I have put together a training webinar to help you out. I’d like you to join me on the next session. Go to upatdawn.biz/webinar for more information.
But I’ll also give you some pointers here… First and foremost, you have to make sure your clients have a positive experience with your business. If they don’t you can kiss great reviews goodbye. No one wants to take time out of their day to say you did okay. If they’re taking their time, they are either going to complain about your business or praise it.
So make it easy for them to say good things about your business. Once you start getting reviews, be sure to respond to them. Reply to each and every one, the good, the bad, and the ones in between. By responding, you show you value your customers and what they have to say. And this shows you’re committed to providing great customer service, and this helps build trust with potential new clients.
Tip #5 – Host and Attend Events
Events not only allow you to interact with your audience and keep them engaged, but they can also create excitement and interest around your business. This, in turn, can lead to increased social media activity and people sharing links related to your event.
For example, you might receive mentions from others. Or attendees might write articles summarizing the event. Anything like this generates more exposure for your business. Even the landing page dedicated to your event can attract links.
People may be interested in the event itself and want to share it with others. Speakers or influencers might promote the event to their audience because they find value in it too. Hosting an event is indeed a lot of work, but the excitement and attention created is hard to achieve in any other way. Plus, events generate positive publicity, which can boost how people see your business and how well-known your business becomes.
All right, that’s enough about Off-Site SEO for now. As you implement each of these tips, it’s a good idea to monitor your site’s performance so you can see what makes a difference. If something stands out, do more of that. But, if you are just getting started with SEO, don’t get overwhelmed. Do what you can and build on it over time. And join me on the training webinar I mentioned earlier. You’ll see one of the easiest systems you can possibly integrate into your business.
Your business deserves to be seen online, and I will help you get there.
Thanks for watching and have a great day!
