In order to do this, we must evaluate your business to identify your goals and then determine the best path to get to your goal state from where you are now.
If you have already explored the idea of generating leads online, you will find that most companies want to pigeon-hole you into a rigid plan, often a monthly search engine optimization (SEO) package.
This is great for the business offering the service because all their clients are all crammed into the same mold. But for their clients, this is a problem because each business is unique. Each business is starting in a different place and might have different goals as well.

First, I just mentioned that Progressive Lead Generation can be effective for a business that does not yet have a website. How can that be? What is the solution?
In this case, we want to start with Google My Business and get the business showing up on Google Maps.
This is important because we want the business to qualify for a listing in the “Money Zone.” That is, we want to get the business showing up as one of the three businesses that appear with the map in local search results, as shown here…
Then, once the business qualifies to appear in the money zone, we use an extensive collection of partner sites to establish credibility and citations for the business so that Google actually considers it for one of the three spots.
The great thing is, even before the business shows up in the money zone, references to the business will appear on the first page of the search results. The business gets search exposure without having a website!
Example #2 — Business With Dysfunctional Website
For the second example, let’s consider a business that has had a website for several years, but they are not getting the results they expected.
This is a more difficult situation because it’s important to diagnose why the results are not coming.
In most cases, we want to look at how the site appears in the search results. It might not be showing up at all, or it might have a poor listing.
Even if a business has hired an SEO firm in the past, that does not mean the site was properly optimized. So we would want to look at this first.
Then we want to check the Google Maps placement and social media. And does the business have a blog with a regular publication schedule?
But those are all visibility issues that lead to traffic. Perhaps the business is visible enough, but they cannot convert their visitors into leads and sales.
In that case, maybe we have to look at the site’s customer focus, their use of testimonials, and whether they have a good lead magnet and follow-up system.
Unfortunately, it’s impossible to diagnose the situation and plan the next steps without seeing the current website and knowing what the business goals are.
